I have bought an item that does not match the description

Find a solution

We strongly encourage the buyer and seller to find a solution. Remember that while it is disappointing to receive an item that does not meet expectations, the seller may not have had a bad intention. Therefore, try to keep a civil tone when you find a solution. A solution could be one of the following:

  1. You agree on a price discount. This is handled outside Reshopper.
  2. The seller takes the item(s) back.

Returns

Reshopper does not have a return arrangement for transactions between private sellers and buyers in the app. If the buyer and seller agree, that an item should be returned, they can either choose to handle the shipping themselves outside of Reshopper, or they can arrange, that the buyer puts the item up for sale and that the seller buys the item back in the app. In this way, the payment and shipping are handled through Reshopper.

Notice, that if the item is bought back through Reshopper, you will be paying the service fee again and the shipping will be included in the bid. If you would like to avoid this, the buyer and the seller will have to arrange how and with which shipping provider, the package should be sent back as well as how the money will be refunded.

At Reshopper we are interested in the situation being solved in a good and fair way for both the buyer and the seller. Since the deviation between the item's description and its actual condition depends on a subjective estimate, we remain impartial in these cases.

Items shipped with Reshopper Simple & Safe shipping

In case of obvious fraud that does not come down to different views on the item's condition, the buyer must contact Reshopper within 24 hours after the item is received. In order for us to process the case, the buyer must be able to document what went wrong by providing item pictures and screenshots.

To avoid discrepancies, repayments, and returns we strongly encourage the seller to give an honest and sincere description of the items being created. The buyer, on the other hand, is responsible for checking the item images and description. If these are not fulfilling we encourage the buyer to demand more info or images from the seller.

Right of cancellation

In trades between private parties, the right of cancellation does not apply. Therefore, the seller is in their right to refuse to return the goods, unless otherwise agreed with the buyer.
